Colorado County Cooperative Extension is hosting a Prescribed Burn Workshop to be held September 25 - 28, 2007 at Cooper Farm, an LCRA Natural Science Laboratory. The training consists of a course approved by the Prescribed Burning Board. The course consists of general fire training and specialized training for the region in which the person is certified, using material developed by the Board. The course will contain formal classroom lectures and practical field sessions, including a prescribed burn.
There will be a comprehensive exam at the conclusion of the workshop. If the exam is passed, the participant will have completed the educational component of the workshop. To see the other requirements for a Certified Prescribed Burner, please click here.
Participants will receive information and support in establishing a burn association for this region if requested.
